Gather Us In (Rassemble-nous)
(MV 7)

Gather us in, ground us in you.
Gather us in, ground us in you.
Gather us in, gather us in,
ground us, ground us in you.

Rassemble-nous, tout près de toi.
Rassemble-nous, tout près de toi.
rassemble-nous, rassemble-nous,
tout près, tout près de toi.

Our church is composed of people like us.
We help make it what it is.
It will be friendly, if we are.
It will be holy, if we are.
Its pews will be filled, if we help to fill them.
It will do great work, if we work.
It will be prayerful, if we pray.
It will make generous gifts to many causes,
if we are generous givers.
It will bring others into its worship,
if we invite and bring them.
It will be a church of loyalty and love,
of fearlessness and faith, of compassion, charity,
and mercy, if we, who make it what it is,
are filled with these same things.
Therefore, with the help of God,
we now dedicate ourselves to the task
of being all the things that we want
our church to be. Amen

Welcome the Light

As we kindle the flame,
we invite and welcome
the Light of Christ,
the Love of Christ,
and the Peace of Christ
into this holy space
and into our lives.

We are here this morning to honour all the saints who have
lived before us, who live with us and who will live after us.
The saints of old - Paul, Mary, Peter, Martha,
Mark, Thomas, Bartholomew, Mattew, Andrew,
Simon, Jude, Dorcas, Lydia, Pricilla and many more.
The present-day saints who live among us,
each-and-every day.
Thanks be for God's call which makes
each of us saints in our own way.
Long live the saints!

Call to Worship

Opening Prayer

Transforming God, we praise you that you can take
ordinary people like us and call us into the Way of
Jesus and name us saints - even though we are not
perfect. We thank you that you are not finished with
us yet. Be with us in this time of worship, as we give
thanks for the lives of the saints of yesterday and today.
In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Holy, Holy, Holy,
Lord God Almighty

(VU 315)

Holy, holy, holy!
Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning
Our song shall rise to thee;
Holy, holy, holy! merciful and mighty,
God in three persons, blessed Trinity!

Holy, holy, holy!
All the saints adore thee,
Casting down their golden crowns
Around the glassy sea;
Cherubim and seraphim
Falling down before thee,
Who wert and art
And evermore shalt be.

Holy, holy, holy!
Though the darkness hide thee,
Though the eye made blind by sin
thy glory may not see,
Only thou art holy;
There is none beside thee,
Perfect in power,
In love, and purity.

Holy, holy, holy!
Lord God Almighty!
All thy works shall praise thy name,
In earth and sky and sea;
Holy, holy, holy!
Merciful and mighty,
God in three persons,
Blessed Trinity!

Prayer of Confession

O God, when we know the right course of action,
but fail to follow it, when we are aware
of what needs to be said but remain silent,
when we are quick to judge, but slow to accept
the worth of each person,
when the examples of Jesus are before us,
but we deny our discipleship…
be patient, forgive us and
lead us to try again. Amen.

Take My Life and Let It Be
(VU 506)

Take my life, and let it be consecrated,
All for thee;
Take my moments and my days;
Let them flow in ceaseless praise.

Take my hands, and let them move
At the impulse o thy love;
Take my feet, and let them be swift
And purposeful for thee.

Take my lips, and let them be filled
with messages from thee;
Take my intellect, and use every power
Ss thou shalt choose.

Take my will, and make it thine;
It shall be no longer mine;
Take my heart, it is thine own;
It shall be thy royal throne.

Take my love: and I will pour
At thy feet its treasure store;
Take myself, and I will be ever,
Only, all for thee.

Jesu, Jesu, Fill Us With Your Love
(VU 593)

R: Jesu, Jesu, fill us with your love,
Show us how to serve
The neighbours we have from you.

Kneels at the feet of his friends,
Silently washes their feet,
Master who acts as a slave to them. R.

Neighbours are rich and poor,
Varied in colour and race,
Neighbours are near and far away. R.

These are the ones we should serve,
These are the ones we should love,
All are neighbours to us and you. R.

Kneel at the feet of our friends,
Silently washing their feet,
This is the way we should live with you. R.

When My Lips Can Frame No Sound
(Jay Althouse)

When my lips can frame no sound,
Saviour, be my faith's sure ground.
When my eyes no longr see,
May my spirit rest in thee.
When my ears no longer hear,
May my spirit know thee near.
Lord, I trust my soul to thee;
May thy love abide with me...

- The Offering -

Offertory

What can I do?
What can I bring?
What can I say? What can I sing?
I'll sing with joy.
I'll say a prayer.
I'll bring my love.
I'll do my share.

Dedication

God, bless our offering
and our talents that they
may be used for your good works
in this community
and the world at large. Amen.

Offertory
(MV 191)

What can I do? What can I bring?
What can I say? What can I sing?
I'll sing with joy.
I'll say a prayer.
I'll bring my love.
I'll do my share.

For All the Saints
(VU 705)

For all the saints,
Who from their labours rest,
All who by faith
Before the world confessed,
Your name, O Jesus,
Be forever blessed.
Hallelujah, hallelujah!

You were their Rock,
Their Fortress and their Might;
You were their Captain
In the well fought fight;
You, in the darkness drear,
Their one true Light.
Hallelujah, hallelujah!

O blest communion,
Fellowship divine!
We feebly struggle,
They in glory shine;
Yet all are one within
Your great design.
Hallelujah, hallelujah!

The golden evening
Brightens in the west;
Soon, soon to faithful warriors
Comes their rest;
Sweet is the calm
Of paradise the blest.
Hallelujah, hallelujah!

But lo! there breaks
A yet more glorious day;
The saints triumphant rise
In bright array;
As God to glory
Calls them all away.
Hallelujah, hallelujah!

From earth's wide bounds,
From ocean's farthest coast,
Through gates of pearl
Streams in the countless host,
Singing to Father,
Son and Holy Ghost:
Hallelujah, hallelujah!
