Rejoice, the Lord is King
(VU 213, verse 1)

Rejoice, the Lord is King!
Your risen Lord adore!
Rejoice, give thanks and sing,
And triumph evermore.
Lift up your heart,
Lift up your voice!
Rejoice, again I say, rejoice!

Our guest preacher today is Lorraine McKenzie
(and I'm guessing the spelling as I have received nothing written).
Apologies if I've goofed!

The White Gift Sunday tree.

We come to this sacred place
where neighbours and friends gather.
We come to worship God in Community.
We are gathered in this sacred place
where all are welcome.
We come to worship in community.
We are gathered in this sacred place
where all who are marginalized, stigmatized,
ignored or simply forgotten are now friends.
We come to worship God in community
Come let us worship!

The Church's One Foundation
(VU 331)

The church's one foundation
Is Jesus Christ our Lord;
We are his new creation
By water and the Word;
From heaven he came and sought us
That we might ever be
His living servant people,
By his own death set free.

Called forth from every nation,
Yet one o'er all the earth;
One charter of salvation:
One Lord, one faith, one birth.
One holy name professing
And at one table fed,
To one hope always pressing,
By Christ's own Spirit led.

Though with a scornful wonder
The world sees us oppressed,
By schisms rent asunder,
By heresies distressed,
Yet saints their watch are keeping;
Their cry goes up, "How long?"
But soon the night of weeping
Shall be the morn of song.

Mid toil and tribulation,
And tumult of our war,
We wait the consummation
Of peace forever more;
Till with the vision glorious
Our longing eyes are blest,
And the great church victorious
Shall be the church at rest.

We now on earth have union
With God the Three in One,
And share through faith communion
With those whose rest is won.
Oh, happy ones, and holy!
Lord, give us grace that we
Like them, the meek and lowly,
On high may dwell with thee.

Prayer of Approach & Confession

In this sacred place, we profess that you are God who "has created and is creating". So, we come today to worship to lift up our prayers to you, trusting that you are active in the world and in our lives. We come with all our doubts, for we have many. We come with all our questions, though they are heavy. We come just as we are, perfectly imperfect. We come to worship you O Lord, for we know that you are not done with this world and certainly not done with us. During this time of worship, we ask that you bless our songs, our prayer, our words and the pondering of our hearts and all that we offer in Jesus' name. Amen

After onfession we hear

Words of Asuurance.

Jesus Shall Reign
(VU 330)

Jesus shall reign where'er the sun
Does its successive journeys run,
His kingdom stretch from shore to shore,
Till moons shall wax and wane no more.

People and realms of every tongue
Dwell on his love with sweetest song,
And infant voices shall proclaim
Their early blessings on his name.

Blessings abound where'er he reigns:
The prisoners leap to lose their chains,
The weary find eternal rest,
And all who suffer want are blest.

Let every creature rise and bring
The highest honors to our King,
Angels descend with songs again,
And earth repeat the loud Amen!

All Hail the Power of Jesus' Name
(VU 334)

All hail the power of Jesus' name!
Let angels prostrate fall.
Bring forth the royal diadem,

R: And crown him, crown him, crown him,
Crown him Lord of all!

O seed of Israel's chosen race
Now ransomed from the fall,
Hail him who saves you by his grace. R.

Crown him you martyrs of your God,
Who from his altar call:
Praise him whose way of pain you trod. R.

Let every tongue and every tribe
Responsive to his call,
To him all majesty ascribe. R.

Oh, that with all the sacred throng
We at his feet may fall!
We'll join the everlasting song. R.

- Sermon -

Majesty, worship His majesty
Unto Jesus be all glory, honor and praise
Majesty, kingdom authority
Flow from His throne, unto His own
His anthem raise

Majesty, worship His majesty
Unto Jesus be all glory, honor and praise
Majesty, kingdom authority
Flow from His throne, unto His own
His anthem raise...

Grant Us, God, the Grace
(VU 540, verse 1)

Grant us, God, the grace of giving,
With a spirit large and free,
That ourselves and all our living
We may offer faithfully.

Draw The Circle Wide
(MV 144)

R. Draw the circle wide, draw it wider still.
Let this be our song: no one stands alone.
Standing side by side, draw the circle wide.

God the still-point of the circle
Round whom all creation turns;
Nothing lost but held forever,
in God's gracious arms. R.

Let our hearts touch far horizons,
So encompass great and small;
Let our loving know no borders,
Faithful to God's call. R.

Let the dreams we dream be larger,
Than we've ever dreamed before;
Let the dream of Christ be in us,
Open every door. R.

We want the rule of Christ to prevail.
Compassion in the place of indifference,
community in the place of self-interest,
peace where conflict rages,
freedom where there is restriction,
self-confidence where there is vulnerability and
hope where there is despair.

As a community of faith,
we will ever work to bring the rule of Christ closer.
