God of the Bible
(MV 28, verse 1)

God of the Bible, God in the Gospel,
Hope seen in Jesus, Hope yet to come.
You are our centre,
Daylight r darkness,
Freedom or prison, you are our home...

Holy One,
In the brightness of creation
and the quiet whisper of your Spirit,
you call us to come and see.
As Jesus revealed your abundance at a wedding feast,
reveal your presence among us today.

Open our hearts to wonder,
our minds to wisdom,
and our lives to transformation.
Gather us in the warmth of community,
that we may follow Christ in compassion and justice.
Amen.

Come In, Come In and Sit Down
(VU 395)

R: Come in, come in and sit down,
You are a part of the family.
We are lost and we are found,
And we are a part of the family.

You know the reason why you came,
Yet no reason can explain;
So share in the laughter and cry in the pain,
For we are a part of the family.
R.

God is with us in this place,
Like a mother's warm embrace.
We're all forgiven by God's grace,
For we are a part of the family.
R.

There's life to be shared in the bread and the wine;
We are the branches, Christ is the vine.
This is God's temple, it's not yours or mine,
But we are a part of the family.
R.

There's rest for the weary and health for us all;
There's a yoke that is easy, and a burden that's small.
So come in and worship and answer the call,
For we are a part of the family. R.

Prayer of Confession
(Together)

God of new beginnings,
we confess that we do not always
recognize your signs among us.
We cling to what is familiar,
ignore the needs of our neighbours,
and resist the change you invite.
Forgive us when fear holds us back,
and when our words or actions diminish
the dignity of others.
Renew us with your Spirit,
that we may live with courage,
generosity, and hope.
Amen.

And Words of Assurance

Jesus Loves Me
(VU 365)

Jesus loves me! This I know,
For the Bible tells me so;
Little ones to Him belong;
They are weak, but He is strong.

R:
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.

Jesus loves me! This I know,
As He loved so long ago,
Taking children on His knee,
Saying, "Let them come to Me." R.

Jesus loves me still today,
Walking with me on my way,
Wanting as a friend to give
Light and love to all who live. R.

I Have Called You by Your Name
(MV 161)

I have called you by your name,
You are mine;
I have gifted you and ask you now to shine.
I will not abandon you;
all my promises are true.
You are gifted, called, and chosen;
You are mine.

I will help you learn my name as you go;
Read it written in my people, help them grow.
Pour the water in my name,
Speak the word your soul can claim,
Offer Jesus' body, given long ago.

I know you will need my touch as you go;
Reel it pulsing in creation's ebb and flow.
Like the woman reaching out,
Choosing faith in spite of doubt
, Hold the hem of Jesus' robe,
Then let it go.

I have given you a name, it is mine;
I have given you my Spirit as a sign.
With my wonder in your soul,
Make my wounded children whole;
Go and tell my precious people
They are mine.

Mary R. with her...

- Anthem -

Jesus calls us; o'er the tumult
Of our life's wild restless sea,
Day by day
His clear voice sounding,
Saying, "Christian, follow me."

Jesus calls us from the worship
Of the vain world's golden store,
From each idol that would keep us,
Saying, "Christian, love me more." ....

- The Offering -

Offertory Dedication
(VU 543)

We give thee but thine own,
What e'er the gift may be,
All that we have is thine alone,
A trust, O God, from thee.

Guide Me, O Thou great Jehovah
(VU 651)

Guide me, O Thou great Jehovah,
Pilgrim through this barren land;
I am weak, but Thou art mighty,
Hold me with Thy powerful hand.
Bread of heaven, Bread of heaven,
Feed me till I want no more;
Feed me till I want no more.

Open now the crystal fountain,
Whence the healing stream doth flow;
Let the fire and cloudy pillar
Lead me all my journey through.
Strong Deliverer, strong Deliverer,
Be Thou still my Strength and Shield;
Be Thou still my Strength and Shield.

When I tread the verge of Jordan,
Bid my anxious fears subside;
Death of death and hell's Destruction,
Land me safe on Canaan's side.
Songs of praises, songs of praises,
I will ever give to Thee;
I will ever give to Thee.
