Darryl Macdonald and his long-time partner Chris Maragoudakis were married Saturday, August 12, 2006
at Union United Church in Ste. Anne-de-Bellevue. The service was conducted by the Rev. Vicky Cowan,
the minister of Union United, and included joyous ceremonies in the United Church tradition and in the Greek
tradition. Darryl is the former minister of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Lachine, which amalgamated with Summerlea United Church in Lachine in 2004. Darryl followed a course of study to become a United Church minister, during which time he acted as student minister at Summerlea. Since his ordination, Darryl has been minister of Christ Church United in Two Mountains, Quebec. Following the service the happy couple headed off in a long cream colour antique Escalibur convertible to lead their invited guests to a sumptuous reception at Le Chateau des Arches in Pierrefonds. Our congatulations and best wishes to Darryl and Chris for a long and happy life together. Thanks to Ruth Taylor for a (much more detailed) description of the event. Following are a few snapshots taken by Marion Golden at the ceremony. We are hoping that others may come forth. (The photos are pickable to see a larger version.) |
