On Wednesday evening May 16, 2007, Summerlea hosted a piano concert by a very accomplished and talented young Latvian pianist, Dzintra Erliha. She played works by Latvian and other composers generally unfamiliar to most of us. In introducing some of them she said she found them difficult to play because of the emotional impact of the music, which was at times powerful, sometimes haunting, sometimes soulful with intriquing bell-like effects.
