After spending the last year as an intern minister and student minister at Summerlea
while pursuing his last year of arduous studies at United Theological College,
and some fifty years after completing his first theological degree, Jeffrey Barlow was
ordained a minister of the United Church of Canada at John Abbott College in Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue on
Saturday evening, 26 May 2007. A number of Summerlea folk were in attendance at the service, which
was held on the lawn in clear, cool weather. On Sunday, Jeffrey was inducted into the ministry at St. James United Church, his sponsoring congregation, and that evening he was royally feted at a reception in Dawson Hall of that church. Jeffrey will be ministering at St. Andrew's United Church in Lachine, so we may expect to see him doing his rounds on his purple bicycle (he is way ahead of the pack in green house gas reduction!) Congratulations and very best wishes to Jeffrey from all your friends at Summerlea. Following are a few snapshots of the event, which are pickable to see a larger version. |
