June 20, 2010 was our last Sunday service with Rev. Heather
MacDougall, who has been with us since Rev. Howard Clark
retired in June 2009. Heather and her partner Pix are
planning to return to their PEI homeland this fall. Heather
was also registered to take part in a week long seminar
in Tatamagouche, N.B. starting Monday, June 21, so she
could not linger. During her last service the choir sang some of her favourite hymns (including one by an old classmate and one that she had not heard before she came to Summerlea). The youth choir also presented an unusual piece describing the roles of rhythm and harmony (or was it unharmony) in music. During her year at Summerlea, Heather has endeared herself to the Summerlea congregation through her dedication and thougtfulness to everyone. A reception in St. Andrew's Hall followed the service. |
