At 2 PM Sunday, 12 December, Summerlea was home to the
covenanting service with our minister, Rev. Scott Patton,
and the retired supply minister to Cedar Park United Church,
Rev. Ron Coughlin. The attendance included some eighty persons,
from Summerlea, Cedar Park and Montreal Presbytery. The service was arranged by Montreal Presbytery and chaired by Rev. Shaun Fryday, Chairman of Montreal Presbytery and minister at Beaconsfield United Church. Participants included: Sheila Hébert, Chairperson and Symbol Presenter, Summerlea United Church Barbara Moffat, Presenter, Summerlea United Church Norman Jones, Symbol Presenter, Cedar Park United Church Tom Kingsbury, Presenter, Cedar Park United Church Rev. Steve Gillam, Guest Minister Constance Osborne, Summerlea Music Director The Summerlea Choir The new ministers were presented to their respective congregations and to the Montreal Presbytery representatives by Barbara Moffat and Tom Kingsbury. The covenanting service included scripture readings, music by the Summerlea choir, a message by Rev. Steve Gillam and promises by the new ministers, the congregations and Montreal Presbytery, followed by presentation of symbols from the two congregations. |
