Summerlea Calls New Minister

At the Congregational Meeting on Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010, Summerlea United extended a call to Rev. Scott Patton, who has been in ministry for 20 years, most recently at Presteign Woodbine United in Toronto. Rev. Patton was born and raised in Quebec and looks forward to returning to la belle province. We look forward to welcoming him on September 1, 2010. The congregational meeting after church was chaired by Rev. Vicki Cowan of Union Church in Ste. Anne de Bellevue, the Montreal Presbytery representative on Summerlea's Joint Search Committee. The committee recommendation to call Rev. Patton was approved unanimously by secret ballot. The congregation also approved motions for the Summerlea Board to ask Montreal Presbytery to approve the call, and to arrange a covenanting service for Septemeber.
