Summerlea United Church Candlelight Service 2012
To the left and right we can see that Acadia Hall and the Santuary are ready.
 Once again Summerlea invited the community into the warmth of the sanctuary for the annual Candlelight Service organized by Ruth Heim and the folks of the Summerlea Serendipity group. Participating in the service (in order of appearance) were: Greg Butt Jacob Osborne Michelle McKenzie Susan Ippersiel Cassandra McKenzie Barbara Davidson Sheila Hébert Susan Winn Peter Maklan Brian Maklan Rev. Scott Patton Greeting were Barbara Costello, David Coffin and Valerie and John Coffin.  Guest Speaker: Susan Winn.We can see Susan here delivering her message "Living Christmas with Extraordinary Hope." |
 The special choral music that is such a big part of what makes the Candlelight special was the responsibilit of our organistand choir master Constance Osborne. And, of course, our very own Summerlea Choir. They can be seen below. Joining the regular members for the evening were: Brad Moffat, Bob Kanemy, Dik Harris and Jean Stewart.

Towards the end of the service the lights were dimmed
and the candles lit for the singing of
"Let There Be Peace on Earth"
The flame was provide by a candle from the very last service
of St. Paul's Anglican Church, Lachine.
And then... Of course...
There followed the reception
with coffee and goodies provided by
members of the congregation.
