The 2012 Good Friday walk took place on a sunny but cool
April day. Folks from western Lachine gathered in
Summerlea United Church at 9 AM. They walked along the
lakeshore pedestrian path to the Italian church at the
corner of 44th and Broadway, where a brief service was held.
They then returned to the lakeshore to make their way to
Resurrection church at 34th Avenue, where they met up with
the walkers from eastern Lachine, for a total of some 125
attendees. Here another service
was conducted by several Lachine ministers, with music by
flautist John Osborne of Summerlea United. Following the service the people moved to the church hall for hot cross buns and water. |
