On a cold December Saturday with, as usual, Connie in the lead, at least sixteen of us proved that an evening of visiting folks and singing carols joyfully lifts up both the singer and the listener. Continuing a long tradition, a Summerlea group of enthusiatic, if largely untrained, singers gathered to bring some joy to others (and ourselves!) by visiting four locations: Bayview Center in Pointe-Claire, the Camille Lefebvre Long-Term Care Pavilion of the Lachine Hospital, Résidence Les Floralies Lachine and the Belvédères residence in Lachine and singing our hearts out! |
The Bayview Center is always our first and longest stop where we lift up our vopioces on all four floors. It is always a wonderful experience. |
At the Camille Lefebvre we sang in the fourth floor common area where, among others, longtime Summerlea member Nancy Harvey was eating supper. On the same floor a smaller group of us made a special stop to sing for Lewis Guynan as he lay in bed in his room with Mary in attendance. |
Our last stop was at the Belvédères in Lachine where we sang in the common room on the first floor. Song sheets were handed out and quite the Group Sing ensued! |
