Virtually anybody who knows Summerlea United knows (Dr.) Tom (Tomas) Pavlasek and knew Tom's late wife Lois both of whom are intricately interwoven with the life and history of Summerlea United Church.

This past summer Connie and I were honoured by an invitation to a BIG party held at Lachine's Maison du Brasseur to celebrate Tom Pavlasek turning 100 years!

Above you see the picture of very young Tom, young Tom & Lois and 100 years old Tom that I lifted off our electronic invitation to the party.

The over ninety guests (almost a guest per year!) were arranged in various 'theme tables': Dr. P. Table, Dog Table, Satellite Table, Antenna Table, Sailing Table, Graduate Table, Bicycle Table, Church Table, Camping Table, Swimming Table, Skiing Table, Skating Table, Music Table. At the party, there were over 90 guests, including 6 former graduate students, 8 professors, 23 engineers, longtime friends, church family, old neighbours, new neighbours, and family. The Lachine Borough Mayor even came by and gave a brief address!
