2024 Annual Welcome Back BBQ

Orange Shirt Day - "National Day for Truth and Reconciliation"

The Sunday worship service was devoted to commemorating the indigenous children who were forcibly taken into the residential school system which was funded by the Canadian government's Department of Indian Affairs and administered by various Christian churches.

It was Summerlea's special Orange Shirt Day service and you can have an abridged look at that service HERE.


So, on a lighter note, the worship service devoted to Orange Shirt Day was followed by the unofficial start to the worship year at Summerlea United marked by the annual Welcome Back Barbecue. Here are a few pictures of the event which followed the regular service.
