We Gather Here To Bid Farewell

We gather here to bid farewell
To friends who leave for other parts
Our prayers we pledge our love we tell,
And lift ot God our grateful hearts

God guide you, keep you, lead you on
From hope to hope, from strength to strength,
Until, in God's all-glorious dawn,
We meet before the throne at length.

Call to Worship

Come and join together for this blessed hour of worship!
We come, called by the creator of the World.
Rise, walk forward and look ahead!
Our God beckons and calls us into newness.
Praise be to the God we know and don't completely know!
Praise be to the God of our parents, our God and
the God of our children!

God is with us, the world is ours!
Let us worship with joy!
Amen!

R: Spirit, open my heart
To the joy and pain of living.
As you love may I love,
In receiving and in giving,
Spirit, open my heart.

God, replace my stony heart
With a heart that's kind and tender.
All my coldness and fear
To your grace I now surrender. R.

Write your love upon my heart
As my law, my goal, my story.
In each thought, word, and deed,
May my living bring you glory. R.

May I weep with those who weep,
Share the joy of sister, brother.
In the welcome of Christ,
May we welcome one another. R.

The Triune God

Holy Love,
Beginning and End,
beyond all Names:
giver of food and drink,
clothing and warmth,
love and hope,
life in all its goodness -
We praise and adore you.

Jesus Christ,
Wisdom and Word:
lover of outcasts,
friend of the poor,
one of us, yet one with God,
crucified and risen,
life in the midst of death -
We praise and adore you.

Holy Spirit,
Storm and Breath:
building bridges,
breaking chains,
waking the oppressed,
making us one,
unseen and unexpected,
untamable energy of life -
We praise and adore you.

Holy Trinity, forever One,
Whose nature is community;
sun bounded dance of love:
in whom we love, and grow,
and know our neighbour,
life in all its fullness,
making all things new -
We praise and adore you.

Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty
(VU 315)

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning
Our song shall rise to thee;
Holy, holy, holy! merciful and mighty,
God in three persons, blessed Trinity!

Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore thee,
Casting down their golden crowns
Around the glassy sea;
Cherubim and seraphim falling down before thee,
Who wert and art and evermore shalt be.

Holy, holy, holy! Though the darkness hide thee,
Though the eye made blind
By sin thy glory may not see,
Only thou art holy; there is none beside thee,
Perfect in power, in love, and purity.

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
All thy works shall praise thy name,
In earth and sky and sea;
Holy, holy, holy! merciful and mighty,
God in three persons, blessed Trinity!

Listen, God Is Calling
(MV 97)

Rev. Beryl's

Sunday Message

"May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
And the rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
And until we meet again
May you be held
In the palm of God's hand..."

Flowers from Tom P.'s funeral.

Offertory Hymn

All that we have, all that we are,
We offer here today.
To bring good news of hope and joy
To cherish on the way.
To feed the hungry and heal the sick
And set the captives free.
To build a world where love is lived,
Proclaiming liberty.

Behold, Behold, I Make All Things New
(MV 115)

Behold, behold, I make all things new,
Beginning with you and starting from today.
Behold, behold, I make all things new,
My promise is true, for I am Christ the way.

Commissioning

Almighty and merciful God,
from whom comes all that is good,
We praise you for all your mercies:
for your goodness that has created us,
your grace that has sustained us,
your wisdom that has challenged us,
your patience that has borne with us,
and your love that has redeemed us.

Help us to love you and all your children,
and to be thankful for all your gifts,
by serving you and delighting to do your will.
In Jesus' name, we pray.

Amen

(L. to R.: Reverends Christine, Beryl
and David Lefneski)
