Call to Worship

People come to Jesus! Come to God!
We gather with joy and expectations!
Do not worry, our God will meet all your needs.
Come with me in this safe place and let us worship
the God of all impossible things, the God of all hopes,
the God of all Creatures living on this earth!
Let us gather to praise our God
and pray for our loved ones.

Indeed, and may God increase in us the faith!
Amen!

Opening Prayer

Jesus Christ Is Waiting
(VU 117, verses 1,2,3,5)

Jesus Christ is waiting,
Waiting in the streets;
No one is his neighbour,
All alone he eats.
Listen, Lord Jesus,
I am lonely too.
Make me, friend or stranger,
Fit to wait on you

Jesus Christ is raging,
Raging in the streets,
Where injustice spirals
And real hope retreats.
Listen, Lord Jesus,
. I am angry too.
In the Kingdom's causes
Let me rage with you.

Jesus Christ is healing,
Healing in the streets;
Curing those who suffer,
Touching those he greets.
Listen, Lord Jesus,
I have pity too.
Let my care be active,
Healing just like you.

Jesus Christ is calling,
Calling in the streets,
"Who will join my journey?
I will guide their feet."
Listen, Lord Jesus,
Let my fears be few.
Walk one step before me;
I will follow you.

Some Words of Regret

We have missed some opportunities to be
witnesses of Christ this week.
Well, it can happen to everyone.

But we feel sad about the things we
should have done or said.
And feel that we could have done better.
Well, let us do better the next time.

Christ understands our lives. He knows what it is to be
a Christian in 2025.

As St. Paul says, we do the things we do not want to do,
And we do not do the things we want to.
But this is life, and it is not perfect.

Let us pray and try to do better next time.
We are good people, and God is with us.
We are not perfect, but we do try our best.
May God help us.
Amen.

Come and Find the Quiet Centre
(VU 374)

Come and find the quiet centre
In the crowded life we lead,
Find the room for hope to enter,
Find the frame where we are freed:
Clear the chaos and the clutter,
Clear our eyes, that we can see
All the things that really matter,
Be at peace, and simply be.

Silence is a friend who claims us,
Cools the heat and slows the pace,
God it is who speaks and names us,
Knows our being, face to face,
Making space within our thinking,
Lifting shades to show the sun,
Raising courage when we're shrinking,
Finding scope for faith begun.

In the spirit let us travel,
Open to each other's pain,
Let our loves and fears unravel,
Celebrate the space we gain:
There's a place for deepest dreaming,
There's a time for heart to care,
In the Spirit's lively scheming
There is always room to spare!

Psalm 42
(VU 766)

As the deer pants for the water,
So my soul longs after you;
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship you.
You alone are my strength, my shield,
To you alone may my spirit yield;
You alone are my heart's desire,
And I long to worship you!

I want you more than gold or silver,
Only you can satisfy;
You alone are the real joy-giver
And the apple of my eye.
You alone are my strength, my shield,
To you alone may my spirit yield;
You alone are my heart's desire,
And I long to worship you!

You're my friend and you are my brother,
Even though you are a king;
I love you more than any other,
So much more than anything!
You alone are my strength, my shield,
To you alone may my spirit yield;
You alone are my heart's desire,
And I long to worship you!

Prayer for the Offering

As people of faith,
we are involved in mysterious,
sacred work.
May God bless our offering
and bless His people.
Amen.

Offertory

God of love
Hear our prayer.
Bless this offering we bring you.
May our lives do your will
Grant us guard us forever.

Give us courage
To stand for truth
Help us care for others
God of love, hear our prayer
Bless the offerings we bring you.

In You There Is a Refuge
(MV 84)

In you there is a refuge,
In you we find our peace.
When all we know is chaos
May our trust in you increase.
In you there is a silence,
In you our minds are clear.
When all we hear is discord
May your quiet draw us near.

In you there is a vision,
In you we learn to dream.
When all we see is desert
May you be our living stream.
In you there is a future,
In you we find our way.
When hope has shed its brightness
May you show us a new day.

Commendation

Here we are! We must part now!
We leave this sacred space,
happy and fed!

Yes, the word of God sustains us and our spirits!
We go, knowing that we are not alone.
No, we never are alone.
So be blessed people of God!
