Open Our Hearts
(MV 21)

Open our hearts, open our minds.
Open our lives to you O loving God.
Open our hearts.
Open our lives to you O loving God.
Open our hearts.

Ouvre nos cœurs, Ouvre nos pensées;
Ouvre nos vies à toi, ô Dieu d'amour.
Ouvre nos cœurs, Ouvre nos pensées;
Ouvre nos vies à toi, ô Dieu d'amour.
Ouvre nos cœurs.

Heavenly God; May the words of our mouth
and the meditations of our heart be agreeable to you.

(Psalm 19:14)
Let us gather now at the door of God's temple!
God has been waiting for us, welcoming us in this space. Let us praise God and celebrate His presence.
We are loved! Praise be to God, the one who reigns over life
and death,
Over the world and the universe.

Opening Prayer

We Are Pilgrims
(VU 595)

We are pilgrims on a journey,
Fellow travellers on the road;
We are here to help each other
Walk the mile and bear the load.

Sister, let me be your servant,
Let me be as Christ to you;
Pray that I may have the grace to
Let you be my servant too.

I will hold the Christ-light for you
In the night-time of your fear;
I will hold my hand out to you,
Speak the peace you long to hear.

I will weep when you are weeping,
When you laugh I'll laugh with you;
I will share your joy and sorrow,
Till we've seen this journey through.

When we sing to God in heaven,
We shall find such harmony,
Born of all we've known together
Of Christ's love and agony.

Brother, let me be your servant,
Let me be as Christ to you;
Pray that I may have the grace to
Let you be my servant too.

Words of Regret

Forgive us Loving God
For the things we have done or left undone
Words we have said or should have said
Deeds we did and regretted.
For all that is imperfect in us.
We feel your compassion
And we are grateful for your welcoming us home.
Forgive us and cleanse us from our sin.
Amen.

Rev. Chrisine's...

(For reasons that escape me, I took no pictures of Lucia playing. But at least you can
hear her lovely rendition of Leonard Cohen's Halllelujah for the interlude.

I’ve heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord,
But you don’t really care for music, do you?
It goes like this, the fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift,
The baffled king composing Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah...

Prayer for the Offering

Bless our offering Loving God,
bless those who were generous,
bless those who are in need,
make us one family of people
caring for each other.
In Christ we pray.
Amen.

Love Knocks and Waits
(MV 94)

Love knocks and waits for us to hear,
To open and invite:
Love longs to quiet every fear,
And seeks to set things right.

Love offers life, in spite of foes
Who threaten and condemn;
Embracing enemies, Love goes
The second mile with them.

Love comes to heal the broken heart,
To ease the troubled mind;
Without a word Love bids us start
To ask and seek and find.

Love knocks and enters at the sound
Of welcome from within;
Love sings and dances all around,
And feels new life begin.

Pastoral Prayers

Prayer response:
Lord, in your mercy,
Hear our prayer.

I Have Called You by Your Name
(MV 161)

I have called you by your name, you are mine;
I have gifted you and ask you now to shine.
I will not abandon you;
All my promises are true.
You are gifted, called, and chosen; you are mine.

I will help you learn my name as you go;
Read it written in my people, help them grow.
Pour the water in my name,
Speak the word your soul can claim,
Offer Jesus' body, given long ago.

I know you will need my touch as you go;
Feel it pulsing in creation's ebb and flow.
Like the woman reaching out,
Choosing faith in spite of doubt,
Hold the hem of Jesus' robe, then let it go.

I have given you a name, it is mine;
I have given you my Spirit as a sign.
With my wonder in your soul,
Make my wounded children whole;
Go and tell my precious people they are mine.

Let us walk out of this sacred place today
with joy and strength in our hearts!
We go, sent by God, helped by Jesus,
and inspired by the Spirit.

May music and peace and birds singing
and wind blowing surround you all and bless you
with their beauty!
We rejoice over the Creation and praise of God
for our lives.

May it be so! Go and be a blessing!

Yet again, I've been caught Flat-Footed
without pictures or text.
?Time to Retire?
Apologies.
