A word from Nancy M.

And Christine Concludes

Will You Come and Follow Me
(VU 567)

Will you come and follow me
If I but call your name?
Will you go where you don't know
And never be the same?
Will you let my love be shown,
Will you let my name be known,
Will you let my life be grown
In you and you in me?

Will you leave yourself behind
If I but call your name?
Will you care for cruel and kind
And never be the same?
Will you risk the hostile stare
Should your life attract or scare?
Will you let me answer prayer
In you and you in me?

Will you let the blinded see
If I but call your name?
Will you set the prisoners free
And never be the same?
Will you kiss the leper clean,
And do such as this unseen,
And admit to what I mean in you
And you in me?

Will you love the "you" you hide
If I but call your name?
Will you quell the fear inside
And never be the same?
Will you use the faith you've found
To reshape the world around,
Through my sight and touch and sound
In you and you in me?

Christ, your summons echoes true
When you but call my name.
Let me turn and follow you
And never be the same.
In your company I'll go
Where your love and footsteps show.
Thus I'll move and live and grow
In you and you in me.

Call to Worship

Come my friends.
Come and worship together on this
Peaceful and beautiful God-given morning!
We joyfully come to gather with our community
and sing praises to God
and to Jesus Christ our Lord.

Let us celebrate everyday
the Resurrection of Christ!
He makes us live and love,
and go through life with hope.

May this faith of yours never die.
With God's help, we will keep our faith.
Amen!

Every Day is a Day of Thanksgiving
(MV 185)

Ev'ry day is a day of thanksgiving.
God you've been so good to me,
Everyday you're blessing me.
Everyday is a day of thanksgiving;
take the time to glorify the Lord today.
Ev'ry day is a day is a day of thanksgiving.

You keep blessing me, blessing me,
Blessing me.
You opened the door that I might see,
You're blessing me.
And you keep blessing me,
Blessing me, blessing me.
I will glorify you,
O my Lord, today!

The United Church Creed

We are not alone,
we live in God's world.
We believe in God:
who has created and is creating,
who has come in Jesus,
the Word made flesh,
to reconcile and make new,
who works in us and others
by the Spirit.
We trust in God.

We are called to be the Church:
to celebrate God's presence,
to live with respect in Creation,
to love and serve others,
to seek justice and resist evil,
to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen,
our judge and our hope.
In life, in death, in life beyond death,
God is with us.
We are not alone.
Thanks be to God.

- Musical Offering by Bruce Padgham -

I love to tell the story of unseen things above,
Of Jesus and His glory, of Jesus and His love;
I love to tell the story, because I know ’tis true,
It satisfies my longings as nothing else would do.

I love to tell the story of unseen things above,
Of Jesus and His glory, of Jesus and His love;
I love to tell the story, because I know ’tis true,
It satisfies my longings as nothing else would do....

(Arabella K. Hankey, 1866)

- The Offering -

We Give You But Our Own
(VU 542)

We give thee but thine own,
Whate'er the gift may be,
For all we have is thine alone,
A trust, O Lord, from thee.

Prayer For the Offering

Bless our offering External God,
Bless those who have shared their resources,
be it this morning or any other day in the year,
through money, but also time and talents.
Bless those who will benefit from them
and help us discern where and how to give.
Amen.

In the Bulb There Is a Flower
(VU 703)

In the bulb there is a flower,
In the seed, an apple tree,
In cocoons, a hidden promise:
Butterflies will soon be free!
In the cold and snow of winter
There's a spring that waits to be,
Unrevealed until its season,
Something God alone can see.

There's a song in every silence,
Seeking word and melody;
There's a dawn in every darkness,
Bringing hope to you and me.
From the past will come the future;
What it holds, a mystery,
Unrevealed until its season,
Something God alone can see.

In our end is our beginning,
In our time, infinity;
In our doubt there is believing,
In our life, eternity,
In our death, a resurrection,
At the last, a victory,
Unrevealed until its season,
Something God alone can see.

Commissioning

Send us out dear God,
Almighty in love and power!
Send us out to those you will show us!
Send us out, strong and bold,
To tell about your love,
your power and your might!

Be with us heavenly and almighty God
For in you only there is hope, love and life.

This little light of mine,
I'm gonna let it shine.
This little light of mine,
I'm gonna let it shine.
This little light of mine,
I'm gonna let it shine,
Let it shine, let it shine,
Oh let it shine...
