Be Thou My Vision
(VU 642, verses 1 & 5))

Be Thou my Vision,
O joy of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art;
Thou my best thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, thy presence my light.

Be Thou my Wisdom,
My calm in all in all strife;
I ever with Thee and thou in my life;
Thou loving parent, thy child may I be,
Thou in me dwelling, and I one with thee.

Land Acknowledgement
(All)

Over the years,
our relationship with Indigenous
people has not always been life-building.
Sometimes we sought to live in respectful
relationship with the First Peoples.
Too often, we have ignored, mistreated,
and destroyed them, exhibiting racism.
Today, we light our candle of reconciliation,
realizing we have a long way to journey
in understanding our role
in building right relations.

All the Way My Savior Leads Me
(VU 635)

All the way my Savior leads me,
What have I to ask beside?
Can I doubt His tender mercy,
Who through life has been my Guide?
Heavenly peace, divinest comfort,
Here by faith in Him to dwell!
For I know, whate'er befall me,
Jesus doeth all things well.

All the way my Savior leads me,
Cheers each winding path I tread,
Gives me grace for every trial,
Feeds me with the living Bread.
Though my weary steps may falter
And my soul athirst may be,
Gushing from the Rock before me,
Lo! A spring of joy I see.

All the way my Savior leads me,
Oh, the fullness of His love!
Perfect rest to me is promised
In my Father's house above.
When my spirit, clothed immortal,
Wings its flight to realms of day
This my song through endless ages:
Jesus led me all the way.

We come into worship, weakened by the demands of daily life.
We come into worship to find strength in the Lord.
We bring with us our worries and concerns that
fill our minds and our hearts.
We come seeking the gentleness of the Lord to
soothe our souls.

We lay down our burdens, opening ourselves to
the mighty glory of the Lord.
Rejoice, the Lord is near.
And God's peace will guard our hearts and minds.

Come, O Fount of Every Blessing
(VU 559)

Come, O Fount of every blessing,
Tune my heart to sing your grace;
Streams of mercy, never ceasing,
Call for songs of loudest praise.
Teach me some melodious sonnet,
Sung by flaming tongues above.
Praise the mount, I'm fixed upon it,
Mount of God's unfailing love.

Here I pause in my sojourning
Giving thanks for having come,
Come to trust, at every turning,
God will guide me safely home.
Jesus sought me when a stranger,
Wandering from the fold of God,
Came to rescue me from danger,
Precious presence, precious blood.

O, to grace how great a debtor daily
I am drawn anew!
Let that grace now, like a fetter,
Bind my wandering heart to you.
Prone to wander, I can feel it,
Wander from the love I've known:
Here's my heart, O, take and seal it,
Seal it for your very own.

A Prayer of Confession

Creator God, when you made us in your image,
you gave us the power to choose,
and you made the consequences of our choices real,
for only in this way could we be co-creators
in your great dance of life
.

You also gave us the gift
of love and compassion, as
a beacon to guide us in your way,
the way that leads to life.
And you ask only that we make our choices
in selfless love and that we be attentive
to the presence of the Spirit with
which you surround us, always.
In your mercy, save us.
Trusting in your love and ever-forgiving nature,
we ask that you open our spirits,
hearts, and minds and guide us
in paths of righteousness. Amen.

And Words of Assurance

What A Friend We Have In Jesus
(VU 664)

What a friend we have in Jesus
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer

Oh, what peace we often forfeit
Oh, what needless pain we bear
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer.

Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged
Take it to the Lord in prayer.

A storm is raging, Lord.
The boat I sail is small
And, oh, frail.
The wind is blowing Lord,
I cannot hold the course
Against the gail...

We Give You But Our Own
(VU 542)

We give thee but thine own,
Whate'er the gift may be,
For all we have is thine alone,
A trust, O Lord, from thee.

I've Got Peace like a River
(VU 577)

I've got peace like a river,
I've got peace like a river,
I've got peace like a river
In my soul.
I've got peace like a river,
I've got peace like a river,
I've got peace like a river
In my soul.

I've got love like an ocean,
I've got love like an ocean,
I've got love like an ocean,
In my soul.
I've got love like an ocean,
I've got love like an ocean,
I've got love like an ocean
In my soul.

I've got joy like a fountain,
I've got joy like a fountain,
I've got joy like a fountain
In my soul.
I've got joy like a fountain,
I've got joy like a fountain,
I've got joy like a fountain
In my soul.
