Summerlea / St. Andrew's Anniversary 2003

The 2003 anniversary celebration of the St. Andrew's Presbyterian and Summerlea United
congregations included a dinner with entertainment on Saturday evening, November 1 and a
combined service on Sunday, November 2. The activities marked 51 years for the Summerlea
building and two years since St. Andrew's began to worship in this building. We have attempted to show a few of the organizers and workers in the photos below, but many who were there are not shown. To all who were involved from both congregations we offer our heartfelt thanks. |

Friday in the Kitchen
1. Turkey Grower & Chef Raymond Golden gets some help from Bill Lynn.

Concurrently, Darryl Macdonald, Tracey, Michèle Bitauld, Donald MacDonald and others from St. Andrew's and helpers from Lakeside Academy were setting up tables for 160 guests in Acadia Hall.
Saturday Evening Supper - The Workers
1. Scouts, Venturers and Rovers served the meal and cleaned up.
They did a great job - friendly, polite and helpful.
2. Getting the hang of it.
3. Scrape the plates before they go to the dishwasher.
4. Raymond Golden, Jennifer Worsnip and Marion Golden in the kitchen.
Other camera-shy kitchen helpers included Nancy & Ian Mark, Don Duncan, Ray Laviolette, Kathy Worsnip, Kate Smart, Sarah & Tom Cassidy, Ruth Heim, Undeg Edwards & others.

Saturday Evening Entertainment - The Guffman 5 Minus One
The Guffman 5 were presenting their first public performance after a year of practice.
Maia Aziz was the Minus One (or should it be Plus One?) - She was in hospital with her brand new baby girl, so had to miss the first performance of their highly enjoyable harmonies.

4. Accompanist Lucia Williams (St. Andrew's Organist & Choir Director) & her page turner, Daniel
(Daniel is a student of Lucia and reportedly an accomplished pianist in his own right).

Sunday Morning Combined Choir at Practice
After rehearsing with the combined choir, Connie Osborne was called away and Lucia Williams filled in to do a fine job with one partial rehearsal.
