Summerlea Bazaar 2006
|
The 2006 Summerlea bazaar took place Saturday November 18, 2006 on a cool November
day with some early sunshine to warm the hotdog chefs. The ambience was festive and warm, and a good
time was had by all. The finance committee reports that it was financially successful as well. Some of the people and activities during the bazaar are depicted in the photos on these pages, but many many others were involved. Many thanks from the Summerlea family to all who participated (photoed or not) in ways too numerous to tell. Special thanks to Kate Smart and Jane Cowell-Poitras for acting as coordinators on top of their full-time jobs and family responsibilities. Special thanks to George Provias, who set up the country store and installed the festive lighting early Thursday morning, in addition to all his normal duties. Special thanks also to the Summerlea Youth Group, Guides, and Scouts, and leaders and students of Lakeside Academy, who helped to make up for Summerlea's limited manpower availability by setting up tables and books, helping in the lunch room and helping to put everything away after the bazaar, so the church and halls were spick and span for Sunday morning. On Thursday morning George Provias and Lewis Guynan set up the Country Store, and a number of students from Lakeside Academy moved chairs, tables, etc. under the direction of Kate Smart and Kathie Worsnip to make room for and set up the bazaar booths. |

Friday the booth conveners set up their booths and Saturday morning they waited for the bazaar to open. |
