Lachine Senior Housing Information Meeting
Posted 27 Feb, 2006
The 14 February 2006 meeting of Summerlea's UCW Serendipity Group was an open session at which Lachine councillors Jane Cowell Poitras and Bernard Blanchet presented information about senior housing now available and being built in Lachine. Jane pointed out that many Lachine seniors tend to look for accommodation further west when they decide it's time to give up their house, so the Lachine council is attempting to arrange for accommodation to be built in Lachine to meet this need.

Apparently the need exists, since some 75 people from Summerlea and the Lachine community attended the meeting, and asked lots of questions. The handouts that the councillors brought with them ran out, but more have been made available and are at the back of the sanctuary.

Following are some photos of the events. You can pick a small photo to see a larger version, then pick Back on your browser to return to this page.

Jane Percy opened the meeting and introduced the speakers.
