On Tuesday, 30 January 2007, a cold but sunny day, some forty seniors from Summerlea and the
surrounding community filled St. Andrew's Hall to enjoy lunch, meet some other folks and, on this day,
be entertained by Lachine magician Blair Marshall, a member of the Summerlea congregation. Following are a few photos of the proceedings (pickable to see a larger version). |
In opening the event, Summerlea's minister, Howard Clark, mentioned the suggestion and donation
boxes at the entry door. He noted that there will be a lenten luncheon series at St. Paul's
Anglican church on Tuesdays during lent. Therefore the next Summerlea senior luncheon will be held
Tuesday, April 24. Here are some shots of folks enjoying the lunch of soup, sandwiches, fruit, and tea or coffee. |
As folks enjoyed their tea or coffee, Howard introduced Howard Young, a relative of Irene Turner visiting from New Brunswick, who enjoyed tinkling the ivories. So he played some golden oldies as a warm-up for Blair Marshall. |
(The folks in the background are in the Last Supper tapestry on the wall.) |
as he remarked on the (non-existant) snow falling outside. Gets us every time. |
but Blair figured them out. |
How does he do that? |
We hope to see you again April 24. |
