Again this year the weather forecast sounded a bit dicey as a couple of dozen people showed up for the picnic at
Dorval Island June 3, 2007. As it turned out, the weather was great for a picnic, with enough cloud to shield us from the sun during worship, followed by sunny skies and warm temperatures as the time came for food and games. Our thanks to Louise Emanuel for arranging the milieu and ferry tickets, to Susan McKenzie and Roy Rodd for organizing games (and ice cream), to John Osborne for flute accompaniment, to Connie for leading the hymns, to Howard for preparing a real outdoor type service, and to all those who attended to make the picnic a very enjoyable event. Following are a few shots of the event. |
The ferry captain posed for a picture and Howard observed as we disembarked. |

while a local pooch stole his thunder until Carolyn Osborne led him to his home. |

and stayed for the service after meeting Jacob Osborne, Michelle McKenzie and Amélie Poitras. Susan McKenzie got her camera ready as Robert Rodd, Chris, Keith & Kevin McKenzie, and Linda & Roy Rodd watched the action. |

John Osborne accompanied us for the hymns, and Connie (not shown) helped us get started on tune. Cassandra McKenzie, Elizabeth, Caroline & Robert Rodd & friend Chris were among those who celebrated our gratitude for nature and our responsibility to protect it. |

to help folks work up an appetite (and a sweat!). |

then everyone gathered to hear the results. (A number of others who attended the service were not caught by the camera.) |

then folks headed to the dock to catch the ferry back to the mainland. |
