Summerlea's annual spring craft fair, bake sale and book sale, a joint enterprise of the Lachine District
Girl Guides and the Summerlea Outreach Committee, was held at
Summerlea United Church Saturday, April 4, 2009, a cool and damp day. The proceeds from this event
are shared by the Guides, to support camping activities, and by the Outreach Committee, to support
community outreach activities. The Summerlea Youth Group played a major role in setting up and taking down / cleaning up after the fair, as well as in making the quiches for lunch. Sunday morning there was no evidence that the fair had occurred, apart from the announcement of success by Linda and Susan. Also involved were the Guides, Pathfinders and Rangers, who served lunch in the lunch room. Our thanks to Linda Rodriquez Rodd and Susan McKenzie for organizing the fair, and to all their helpers for producing such an enjoyable and successful event. Here are shots of some of the participants. You can pick the icon to see the full-size photo. To return here after viewing the photo, click Back on your browser. |
Entering Acadia Hall, there seemed to be more artisans than usual. |

Here we caught Irma de la Luz Pérez, Jane Pascau and Dale Romagosa. |
The reading area had free space when the photo was taken. Lots of room to browse the books. |
