Youth Group Rock-a-thon Feb 27-28, 2010

Once again Summerlea's Youth Group held a 24 hour fund-raising rock-a-thon from noon Saturday February 27 to noon Sunday February 28, 2010. In the weeks preceding the event the young folk collected sponsorship funds from the congregation and friends in the amount of $977 on behalf of the Montreal Children's Hospital. The young folks rocked two at a time in one hour shifts.

On completing the rockathon at noon Sunday, they took over to serve and clean up for the annual pancake lunch, followed by the New Minister meeting. The afternoon featured the Canada - US hockey game to close the 2010 winter Olympics, so there were presumably some tired folks by Sunday evening.

Thanks to the McKenzies and the Rodds for arranging and supervising this activity.

And, as we say each year, so ends another night
of "rockus" living for the Summerlea Youth Group.
