Summerlea Bazaar 2010
Sticky Buns

Every year some of the Summerlea ladies spend the day before the annual bazaar making "Sticky Buns" for sale at the bazaar (in addition to many days making meat and apple pies earlier in the year).
Usually this event takes place in virtual obscurity, but this year the Summerlea snap-shooter happened to be in the area, so some photos of the secret process were taken. They can be picked to see a larger version.

When the snap-shooter arrived, the ladies had already been at it for hours.

Your non-qualified observer watched Sheila Hébert as she went through the steps,
but never did figure out the whole process.
Janet Smart weighed and adjusted each item to assure that all are on spec.

Making the pastry is in itself an interesting process,
in the experienced hands of Marion Golden.
Here we see the big mixer and a few of the ingredients.

Many thanks to the ladies who tackle this process every year,
to contribute significantly to the bazaar proceeds.
