Cassandra's Spaghetti Supper

On Saturday evening, 3 December 2011, Cassandra McKenzie hosted a spaghetti supper in St. Andrew's hall as a project in her International Baccalaureate programme at Lakeside Academy. Entertainment by some of her fellow students followed supper, and a good time was had by all. At the end of the evening, Cassandra reported that the event had raised some $500 in aid of research into Huntington's disease. The photos are pickable to see a larger version.

As folks waited for supper to be served, Charles tinkled the ivories.

Meanwhile, back in the kitchen, Kevin (Dad), Susan (Mom) and Keith (Bro) slaved away. But rumour has it that Cassandra and Mom made the spaghetti sauces (two, actually: one vegetarian and one with meat).

It was not known how many people would attend, so tables were set for lots. About thirty folks arrived to enjoy salad, great spaghetti and dessert with coffee or tea.

After supper, all adjourned to the sanctuary, where Cassandra presented the entertainers.

Charles played trumpet solo and with piano and guitar / harmonica.

Erin Overbury did an amazing (and acrobatic) modern dance routine.

Charles closed the show with a vocal, accompanying himself on the piano (which he says he cannot play). Three of Cassandra's classmates followed Cassandra's thanks to all who helped, with their thanks to Cassandra.

Our thanks to Cassandra and family and friends for an evening featuring a great supper and enjoyable entertainment.
