Easter Sunday 2003

Easter Sunday 2003 dawned cool and cloudy but dry, as some 17 Summerlea and St. Andrew's
folks headed to the lakeshore for a "sunrise" service (in fact the sun had risen some time before
the 7:30 AM gathering at the church). After the sunrise service the participants returned to the church to replace the adornments that were removed from the chancel after the Seder supper Maundy Thursday, then to enjoy a breakfast of juice, hot cross buns and coffee. The Easter Sunday service at 10 AM saw a full house as the junior and senior choirs offered rousing Easter music and Rev. Howard provided stories to bring home the meaning of Easter for young and old alike. Following are a few photos of the participants. During the proceedings flocks of geese flew over. Darryl said he had arranged the flypasts because the goose is the Celtic symbol of the Holy Spirit.
